Title: Trouble reinstalling. Help please?
Post by: BrunoBL on November 04, 2025, 03:25:07 PM
Hi All,
My RB Feeder has erratically been on/offline for some time and finally went offline for many days. My internet connection is fine, wifi signal is strong. I decided to replace the Raspberry hardware, get a new microSD card and start anew (I do intend to keep my original share key).
So I burned the new microSD card with Raspberry OS Lite (32-bit) as suggested by the video tutorial, configured username, wifi settings and SSH interface, rebooted and can access the Raspberry from the PC. So far, all good.

Then I copied the bash script line from the AirNav site:

sudo bash -c "$(wget -O - http://apt.rb24.com/inst_rbfeeder.sh)"

When running the script, those are the last two lines returning from the installation:

bash: line 27: apt-key: command not found
Don't know how to install for a distribution named

It does seem that the last line was truncated, but that was all that was displayed onscreen.

From this point on nothing works, RBFeeder can't run as it seems something wasn't installed.

Any ideas where to go from here?
Thanks,
Bruno

Bruno

I would assume that you have installed the new Trixie version of the o/s.  The Trixie version of the RB feeder has not been done yet

See this workaround from abcd123 https://forum.airnavradar.com/index.php?topic=109561.0 but note it only works on the 64bit o/s

So you can either downgrade to a previous version i.e bookworm or go 64bit

Many thanks. Will redo with the 64-bit version.

Update:
Installed again with 64-bit Bookworm, and that did the trick, all went smoothly.

Feeding again, finally.
Many thanks for the tip, Alan, greatly appreciated.

All the best,
Bruno
