Hi there,
I have seen many posts regarding running queries on the RB database and am now getting interested in trying just that.
What programs do you guys use to run these queries and do you share your query scripts with other users?
Tarbat - if you are reading this - you mentioned SQLite Maestro 8.1 but I see they are now on v9.x and the cost is $79 I believe - is your 8.1 a paid up/registered version or a free version?
Despite the RB database using a .db3 extension it is SQL right?
I already have MS SQL Server Desktop Engine (KSS) installed on this PC as I use it for call logging & website stats if that has any bearing on anything...
Any other hints/tips/advice gratefully received.

I'm on SQLite Maestro v7.12, fully paid for - it cost me £39. Main benefit for me was the Visual Query Builder, which lets you build SQL without any knowledge of SQL. I've got about a dozen different queries that I've create with the VQB. Other thing I use it for is importing/exporting data, cleaning up data, etc.

I actually use an older version of this programme called SQLite Pro... I am not sure what version of SQLite db navbox currently use, so you may need to check the compatability of this 2009 version, my older version works fine.

I thought I might need SQL Maestro for MySQL v9.2 (single non-commercial) @ $99?
However I seem to have purchased SQLite Maestro v9.3 (single non-commercial license) @ $79
Talk about confusing...but I believe you use SQLite Maestro right?
So...I have downloaded & installed SQLite Maestro v9.3 and couldn't for the life of me see how to load MyLog.db3 into it - it just wanted to create a new database - until I realised I had to Create a Database profile first...how do I know which options I may need to alter or should I leave them all at default?
And do I need to change any other options within the program?
The first thing I wanted to do was zap MyLog.db3 and remove all of the '...' entries from aircraft type - what exactly do I need here and how best to work on this database?
I've just done a search to see if I could find any of the scripts you have posted previously but as usual for me the search was next to useless. Any chance you could point me towards an earlier post where you may have posted some of your scripts please Chris?

You want SQLite Maestro - http://www.sqlmaestro.com/products/sqlite/maestro/
To open a database:
On the menu - Database - Create Database Profiles.
Give it a GROUP name (eg Radarbox)
In Database Name, locate the Radarbox database (MyLog or Navdata)
Just accept the standard defaults
Then double click the database in the left pane to connect to it.
Also note, there is a free trial of SQLite Maestro available, so best to try it out, learn how to use it, etc. whilst in the trial period. The trial version of SQLite Maestro is fully-functional and can be used for an evaluative period of 30 days.

Hi Tarbat and All,
I tryed out some queries. They are working verry well but......
The source of all is in most of the cases the "MyLog.db3" file from the AirNavRadarBox. This file is (I am still 3.01 Beta user) not OK. This is no criticism, as said I am Beta user but still hope and trust that all problems will be solved with the release of the next version.
I reported this with exemples to Support and (when I good remember) to you as well in the past after 3.0 Beta was launched.

My MyLog.db3 is okay. What's the problem?
The queries in the file "NavData Queries.txt" use the Navdata database.

I am verry sorry but with me it is not okay. I send you (and Support as well) a report in the past. So I think you (and Support) knows the problems I reported. If you read the reports I send to you careful you must see what I mean??????????????? Am I the only one in the world of ANRB-users have this problems?
I see much doubling lines of flights; flight with wrong route information, flights with NO route information while there is information in the local database....It is a big heap of ruins when a make a querie........
I reported this to Support and they told me the problem is known and should be solved....

Yes, I get this, but usually caused by an aircraft changing it's FlightID many times. See VT-ESO in my log from yesterday. It correctly shows that the aircraft cycled through many Flight IDs, so not an error in my opinion.

Yes, sometimes the route lookup is wrong. That's not a problem with MyLog, more a problem with the route lookup service that ANRB uses.

Not seen this, but may be caused by transition from network to local flight - something Airnav have said will be investigated.

The crux:
Why did I not see all this phenomena in version 2? Reports I made there with the help of SQLite Maestro looks allways verry clean......
And, I have switched off the network most of the time (because I have more then enough with the receptions with my own setup).
