I have the details/plans for the North Atlantic Tracks, does anyone know where I can get details/plans of the South Atlantic Tracks via Santa Maria etc.

There aren't any it's free flow. The only tracks ever published through Santa Maria ACC are on the North Atlantic Tracks if winds dictate. There are airways thru Santa Maria airspace from Europe to South America but traffic from the Caribbean to Europe is generally on composte (optimum) routes likewise South America to Africa.

Thanks for that. I just wondered if there was a similar website to the NATS one whereby you can get a daily update of the eastbound/westbound tracks being used over the North Atlantic but, I guess, that there really isn't such a thing.
Does that mean that flight crews have a 'free hand' as to which way they go from Europe to South America/Caribbean and vice-versa?

Outside of the NAT Tracks we plan optimum routes depending on cost/fuel and at this time of the year weather i.e. Tropical storms, hurricanes etc. I dont know of any public sites that actually show the nat tracks other than the public portal of the CFMU website www.cfmu.eurocontrol.int and look for NAT. This site will give you lots of info regarding sector usage around europe.
The only other daily 'tracks' issued are the PAC tracks from north America over the Pacific and the Flexi track NOROTS over Canada and the AUSOTS over Australia. These are issued on the basis of the PRM's (Prefferred Route Message) sent by major airlines to the relevent controlling ACC'S the day before.

If you go to the CFMU website as per my prev msge. You will find a lot of info on what is happening within the Eurocontrol area that they are putting out to the public. You can navigate around the website but obviously some areas are sensitive and wont let you in without passwords.
