Or can someone tell me what other electrostatic protector to use to groung my external antenna?

I may be wrong and may be corrected by someone else but the problem with Lightning protectors is that the voltage at which they trip is greater than the input to the airnav box can withstand. Therefore should you get a strike it will still damage your box before the protector cuts in.
The best protection is just to disconnect the box from the antenna when you suspect very bad weather.
