Any reason why it seems to be taking longer and longer to optimise data when switching on the ANRB. Tonight was a record at over 3 minutes !
I am reluctant to delete any information I have on the system in the hope of maybe or maybe not speeding things up.
Anyone else experiencing this ?

Nothing to do with the server Ian. What size are your files Ian, mylog,photos,logos etc all take time to load. The larger the files the longer time they take to load. The mylog is usually the one, what size is it?

I think the problem does lie with the size of the Mylog file. As I said I was reluctant to delete anything however on going into Mylog then Tools and Delete old data I discovered that you can personalise how much old data you want to delete. I assumed that it deleted ALL old data. I have now deleted old data prior to December 31st 2013 therefore leaving all 2014 data upto the present day so hopefully that should make a difference when next switching on. You learn something new every day !

I use the time it loads to download my email, start looking at the news etc so as far as I am concerned a number of tasks are getting done at the same time.

Put an SSD in your computer and your loading times will reduce to about 30 seconds irrespective of file size, its the best upgrade I have made to my computer and relatively easy to do. Regards to all Lou.

Just throw a ton of ram at your pc.
I am running 16 Gigs with NO Swap file, makes a huge difference. Less disk activity. I essentially load up all programs in to memory.

If you go the SSD route you will need to disable indexing/ensure disc defrag is disabled on the SSD, also you need to open command prompt and type in fsutil behavior query Disable/Delete/Notify this will return either a 0 or 1. Zero means that trim is enabled which is what you want, W7 and W8/8.1 should turn it on automatically but it is best to check. If you are using Windows XP don`t bother with an SSD as it cannot really handle one effectively
Is there work being carried out at the moment, as I've had no network all morning?
The network has been up all morning at least since I logged on around 0815. Try closing down and restarting is all I can suggest.

Hi Alan, for some wierd reason my RB software reset itself to new user, should've twigged it when the altitude screen showed up at the bottom! Get network info. box was unchecked, so obviously no network, re-checked and it's back to normal.
I sometimes get that when starting, should have twigged to see if the Get Network flights was checked
