Can anyone tell me please why the "Mode-S signal maximum range" rings and the "Radar" rings are not concentric?

Mine are.  What map projection are you using - try Spherical.

Yep Tarbat - you're right. Was using mercator.

While you're there, what's the inner ring/outer ring significance Tarbat? Minimax-maximax?
