hi im using a discone antenna off my radarbox is this ok i am getting great signals off it getting app dep at shannon cork kerry and overhead traffic would it improve if i got the proper antenna thanks

You should actually notice a huge difference in an aerial tuned to 1090Mhz.  Like the radar extender                       http://www.rocketradio.co.uk/radar-extender-external-antenna-for-radarbox--sbs-1-1500-p.asp             

which we use and a high quality coax like the Westflex 103 at as short a length as possible.
