DEFAULT MAP

Is it possible to change this to another location please?

Hi
you can change the default map if you want too, open the map where you want it and then select map from the menu bar,
select 'open/save' then 'save map as' on the list should be one called default, select that and click save,
It will overwrite this file so you could rename it first as default1 then just save the new file as default.

yes i know what your saying, when you are out in car change the home position to say 20 or 60 miles away
without putting grid references or internet connections.
I would like to know as well.

If you are at an airfield you can use the locate airfield tab on the display screen by typing in the four letter ICAO code for that airfield, if you then go into preferances and uncheck the tick box centre at home location above the Clear/Reset polar diagram button it will then centre the radar rings on your location.

Anywhere else you need to input a lat/long in the Home station data in preferances to get an accurate position of where you are. Aircraft position on the map are taken fom the mode-s positions recieved from the aircraft so as long as you know roughly where you are you should be able to determine what you are seeing above you.
