Old User Returning and very dissapointed!

Hello all.
It's been a while since i was here last due to selling my RB (Just got a new one again) and due to illness.  Whilst been away i was given the oportunity to try "the S_S-1e".

I have an outside antenna specifically for both boxes.  I have to say i am dissapointed at the ANRB.  It doesn't see anywhere near what the other box sees.

Is there any reason for this?  My visual area has decreased.  I could track a/c from Germany over to Ireland and from Portsmoouth to Newcastle area so was a very good range.

The ANRB visual is less than a 30m radius.  I can't see anywhere near the volume of a/c within this range.

Firmware is 2.01 i think.

Anyway very dissapointed in that fact but like the way the ANRB works visually.

Sounds like you have a fault on your aerial if you are only seeing 30m. and in comparison to the other box. Does the same thing happen if you switch aerials?

Or it could be:
1. Faulty antenna lead - check the centre pin is connecting to the RB okay.
2. Faulty Radarbox (saw filter maybe).

30m range is not normal.  Have you taken static precautions with your outside antenna?

Hi all and thanks for the info.

Well at the moment i have only the RB2009 so i cannot compare.  I will try the antenna that came with it and see if there is any difference.  I guess at least it will determin the performance of the antenna on the roof.
