moving box/aicraft silhouette on radar screen

Hi guys
Just had to switch to my 12" laptop from my 22" desktop screen and instead of the directional aircraft silhouette which leads the aircraft info box on the radar screen I see a liitle box. Can this be changed.

nb The reason i have had to switch is that my laptop screen keeps freezing and the motherboard alarm buzzer comes on on my Desktop even though its only showing temp of 46'. An answer to that would be priceless.
