Interesting site - Pilot's view combined with Google Maps

Here's an interesting site that combines Google Map and Google Earth views on www.navpt.com. If you click on an aircraft and then at the bottom the box that appears click on Fly inside cockpit on the pilot seat you get a 3D Google Earth popup view from the pilot's seat (you'll need the Google Earth plugin in your browser). Perhaps something for me to investigate for SquawkBox.

Absolutely astonishing!!!!

just sat in the "spare seat" on two TAP A320's into Lisbon from about 50km out - it's such a pity that they seem to loose the signal at around 650ft on finals.

This is one amazing addition to the whole game - well done Andy for spotting this one

As an aside - has anyone been on the TAS Manchester website lately - they are running a "live" feed from "Virtuelradar" straight from their home page - don't know much about them, but it's blinking useful when you see something out of the office window without access to Radarbox!!  Unfortunately I wouldn't get away with taking the box to work, and the number of times I've looked out of the window to see a few heavies heading US bound, wondering what they are - it only shows actual tracked ADS-B flights, with a slight delay, but it's better than nothing to waste a few hours!

one of the developers told me that they are going to release the software for the whole of europe soon, you can buy it, it works with any ads-b receiver. infos will be on their homepage.

Absolutely brilliant! AirNav 3D plug-in is still in the future, so obviously people are going to look around to see what else is being developed for use now.
