Interesting Google Earth Layers for RadarBox 3D

Thought it was worth having a topic thread where we can all share the various KML/KMZ Google Earth layers that are worth using in Radarbox 3D.  Obviously we've already got the airspace ones included with RB3D, which I certainly find useful.

But what about others?  For example, one that shows the North Atlantic tracks, or a decent real-time weather radar display.

What have others found so far?

I sort of know what the layers do on Google earth. In 2d I have .out files for the various flight corridors, do you know if similar things are available for 3d?

Here's a GE KML layer for Planeplotter users.  It plots everything that you can see in Planeplotter on the ANRB 3D display as well.

A couple of tips:

1. DON'T enable Radarbox input to Planeplotter, otherwise you will see duplicate aircraft.

2. Make sure you turn ON the GE server in Planeplotter.

Now, you can have the Planeplotter network displayed in Radarbox.

ANRB 3D comes with a whole set of airspace data, but not flight corridors AFAIK.  See example at http://www.airnavsystems.com/radarbox/3dshots3.html

We need to search for these types of layers to use in RB3D.

Here's a GE KML layer for Planeplotter users.

And here's the equivalent for ShipPlotter users.  Now you can view both your aircraft and ships in one display in RB3D.

By using Google Earth and having an internal KML file (google earth layer) interface, RadarBox 3D enables anyone to track not only aircraft but any other object if a suitable kml/kmz file present and added to the shown kml list.

So we have browsed the web searching for interesting KML files and we are now tracking ISS (International Space Station) Live with RadarBox 3D.

If you want to do so:
1- Download the atatched file below and place it in your RadarBox\GE_Layers folder.
2- Go to RadarBox 3D "3D View" menu.
3- Click on Extrenal KML Manager;
4- Add the ISSLocator.kmz file to the selected list.

A resulting screen shot is also attached.

Very nice - thanks for those, I think I prefer the skyfool Australian airspace to the Standard one, it seems to be clearer. We just need temperatures displayed in Celcius instead of Fahrenheit now and the weather one would be perfect :)

Note: most of the kml-files are huge in size and will definitely need a powerful pc to run well.
