Suddenly started picking up large number of aircraft on the groung at EGCC

Strange occurance this evening, after two years of operating the box from the very same window ledge location, picked up several aircraft in my flights that were on the ground at EGCC - I'm about 9 miles from the airport as the crow flies

Never picked one up before actually either on the runway or taxi ays at EGCC whilst at home!

Any ideas?

There's a rather large imovable hill between my house and the airport, hence the reason I don't pick an up

Mabe just atmospheric conditions. I am getting freak ranges at the moment.A VHF/UHF lift on with the high pressure.

We have been suffering from exceptional rang and low altitude reception today. Two examples of the many occurrences today are we have just lost a bmi at 4675' near Aberdeen  when they are normally lost at 8500-10000' also earlier on today we had a Singapore airlines cargo B744 at fl390 and a Lufthansa A346 at Fl340 around 240-250nm near Newcastle. In that direction is normally 190-210nm.

Appears to have been a "one-off" for me, with normal reception being resumed 24 hours later!

Oh well, it as good whilst it lasted
