Crikey!....anybody see how foggy it was at Stanstead? BBC Breakfast were showing it live but then had to cut transmission because AF1 just disappeared into the fog as it Taxied.

Tracked AF1 on ANRB and also managed to catch some comms on the scanner. Had to open the squelch a fair bit though. I heard AF1 requested an altitude of either FL250 or FL270. Once they were handed over to the next sector, I couldn't get any more comms.

hi there,
just wondered if you could help me put my dad's mind at rest, he was bought an airnav thingy for his birthday and loves it, he tracked airforce one last week and the screen went down, he is now worried he has done something wrong and will be getting a visit from the 'men in black'. He hasn't dared used it since!.
hopefully you experts will be able to help me reassure him he's going to be fine!
he was only watching the flight on the screen,not passing info on.

He will be fine :-)

RadarBox is completely passive when receiving live aircraft and the Network is delayed 5 minutes for security reasons, so you father will be fine.

When you say that the screen went down, what exactly happened?

well from what he told me, personally I think that he just lost internet connection, but dad being dad put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5!
he is now convinced he will be getting a visit from the police? and will not use his air nav again!
I just want to reassure him that no one is going to come round and he can carry on enjoying his new hobby with out fear of being arrested lol.
Sorry if this seems abit silly,but he is very new to all this and was enjoying his air nav so much

As we've said before here, no question is too silly!

I've had an SBS-1 for over 2 and a half years and a RadarBox for over one and a half years and there are many many other users all around the world too. Use of RadarBox is legal and so is sharing the data via the AirNav Network to produce 5 minute delayed that every other RadarBox user can view. As far as I'm aware, no RadarBox user has received a knock on the door from the "men in black", nor are they likely to.

Must go, there is somebody at the door ............... only joking -lol

Perhaps your dad may also think about joining the forum here where he can ask as many questions as he likes along with getting great help and advice should he need it.
