Hi Canonjohns40D,

I had both 59-1468 and 58-0074 over Dublin this morning while taking pics.
Unfortunetly the clouds prevented me from getting either of these.
If I get any pics, I usually try and put them up on FrequencyDB.com under Aircraft monitoring.

Strange one: 43C0AE, No a/c type and flight id: 1DR10 descending through FL60

Googled the mode S id and comes back as an Army Dauphin 2 ZJ783

Keep an eye out for the Dauphin II,they`re used by a certain specialised army unit?

Hi 43C0AE,  flight id: 1DR10 is recorded on my box here in Northern Ireland at 4.50pm. I was in work but my family were around the local area in two different locations at this time. They couldn't wait to tell me about a "military" type helicopter seen by them.

They are used to me and my spotting and do a reasonable job in my absence. They described it as Army green with sort of pods on it. I showed them some pictures to aid identification. It would appear it may have been a Dauphin and headed inbound Belfast I would assume Belfast Aldergrove (RAF Aldergrove).

I'll keep my eyes and ears open this evening.

Yes John,
              There was an article in either Radio User or Monitoring Monthly last month or Feb,explaining the covert ops they are used for and where they are based,not all together obviously,but this specialist unit has 3 Dauphins and the Magazine gives the Hex code as well!

Edit HI 43C035 ZE808 and 43C031 ZE788 identified as Tornado  F3s. Just noted RAF VC10 43C0A1 XV105 RRR2304 is also airborne.
