Yes sharing (Share Flight data ) is on. Location info is as in my previous post - can't be much simpler "Torquay UK"...but I would have expected Google Earth to work of the lat/long rather than anything else.

Tho' looking at the  Source code - the info is inconsistent...for example...a user in Portsmouth looks like  correct lat/long...one in Waterlooville (  very close to Portsmouth ) is definitely wrong  ....and one in "Blandford  North Dorset" is wildly  wrong........

So who knows...........?

The lat/long you enter in Radarbox is NOT shared.  The map either uses your City/Country in Radarbox (RED pin), or the co-ords of your ISP (BLUE pin).

Frank, just don't enter your City/Country in Radarbox Preferences then.   Only the location of your ISP will be shown then, NOT your home location.

Yes - I understood that  - was  just commenting that it seems  the least efficient way  when Lat/Long  is available (to GE) ...after all we have - just in the UK alone , many instances of  more than one place with the same names.

Dave, Airnav have always said that a users lat/long location will be kept private.  So they can't use the Lat/Long from RB.

thanks, but my isp is in my home town. any suggestions? i have set my location and city to another nearby country but it still shows my real location.

You can always check who's online by going to http://www.airnavsystems.com/RadarBox/network2.php, right click on the page, and select View Source.  Currently showing one user in Australia, at Turramurra.

tarbat,

I go there now to see.  But it doesn't tell me who.....

I am just asking.

lets put it this way forget about the map, it useless this is why.
and if people do not want there location put in thats there privilege, if people put in the wrong location that there privilege, in some country its illegal
now ip address can be 1000s of miles away or next country, not trying to start a war
but just think about it,  its not very good.
