There should be no problem then. RB does not take up more than 80mb of RAM when pushed too its limits. You didn't mention your Proccessor speed,

However here are a few things which will help if you are on a slow machine:

1.) Reduce Screen Refresh Rate (In Preferences)
2.) Reduce amount of detail on Maps
3.) Select one picture download only
4.) Unselect viewing the vertical tracking view
5.) Unshow photo and details
6.) Untick network flights

Obviously you don't need to do all the above, they are just choices and what will have an affect if you turn them off.

RoadRunner:

Yes we hope to correct that in later versions. Its not a RB fault but a Vista issue which you have to rectify in order to get round Vistas security settings.

1.3 Would have not interfered with 2008 so it may just have been connection drop and you were unlucky.

We will keep watching !

It is nice at last to have a list of aircraft to start with when starting each day - and one that is growing !

Hello Airnav Team,

Thanks for the information. I have unchecked some more map details and it works OK (not fast). But I can live with it :)

Thanks for adding the "execute file" option by the way...!

The polar diagram will be nil until you have received a load of aircraft, say for at least one hour.  It will build up as aircraft are received.

When you start using your old icon, you are loading RadarBox 2007, not 2008.

Can I just get a re-cap. The freezing problem that some of have been having are we still saying that it is an issue with the file sharing and airnav are looking into to it?

Sorry for this but have been away for most of the day, and it is still happening here whether i'm connected or not, file shar on & off

Steveb25 and all,

Let me just clarify so far we have seem to found a issue with data sharing being on when you are either not connected to the Internet or whether the Internet or wireless has dropped temporally.

However this is yet to be confirmed as the earlier posts don't seem to confirm it fully. We are doing testing of this as well.

Furthermore we will be watching for any bug reports, issues over the the next week and then create an update within a few weeks of that.

-- A quick test we pulled a wireless card out of a laptop running RB and also disconnecting the router when the card was in while RB was sharing and it matched the issue seen by some customers.

Thanks guys

It is a great comfort to know that you guys are on the ball.

Many thanks for the update, just thought that after the rush of messages it might help to get it straight from the horses mouth, as they say.

My earlier post on this seems to have gone over people's heads. I have a 5 year old PC with 256mB of RAM and RB is a happy bunny BUT this wasn't the case from day 1.

If someone with anything older than a new PC is not regularly 'cleaning' their PC, especially getting rid of temporary internet files, any application, such as RB  requiring significant processor load and internet access,  will slow the machine down so bad that it will struggle to keep up. In fact, RB is a good gauge of your PC's health.

Until the PC is tuned up and has all the junk stripped out, including replacing RAM sapping anti virus software with less demanding products you can tick and untick all the boxes you like in RB and it won't make a blind bit of difference.

Just Google your anti virus software and it won't take too long to see what problems it's capable of producing.

My machine has a 2.8GHz P4 with 256 mB RAM and ran all day today on V1.4 from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm, sharing data, downloading 2 photos with not so much as a skipped heartbeat and I would say that there hasn't been a big improvement in performance speed over V1.3. If people are having problems with slow running of RB look elsewhere - as far as I am concernced the program runs fine, even on my old crock.

The wheel guys
The mouse wheel don't work again to zooming in and out.
Like 1.3 to 1.4 again.
Only the first time works and if i click to interface panel and return to map not work for zooming.
Just scrolling a red box in to interface panel.
Works again if i open a new window (any window) over RB.

Any help ?

Flyhigh:

Wheel mouse has been noted now. It wasn't noted from 1.3.

EINN-07:

Behind the scenes especially the level of ram has reduced significantly.  For areas with medium to high traffic this is noticeable.

And what means this if you have the kindness you explain to me

Thank you

We will take a look and try it fixed on the next update. We meant you mentioned that it was in 1.3, we don't have bug reports listed for 1.3 regarding. It may be that it was missed by mistake.
