Avianca Flight AVA9776 Ex- Bogota right now is being operated by N401AV - shown in the picture downloaded as an F-4D Phantom !!!
Now that's a cool way to travel.......

Another out of date one turned up here a short while ago.

Pan Am Boeing 707-321 mode S A9A4D2 Registration N720PA.

Obviously we knew this was not right so Airframes tell us it is a Piper PA-28-181.

The Belgian DHL B752 fleet has today been transferred on mass to the German Register to be operated by EAT Leipzig.  The first two have been seen on the network

The extra advantage is that the D-ALE* series has not been used previously for airliners.  So no old photos exist on Airliners.net to mess up the database system.

Another great aircraft, one of the original, smoky, pre-turbofan 707s with P&W JT4s.  Incidentally this one spent 10 years on the British register as G-AYVG with Donaldson and British Midland after Pan Am disposed of it in the early 1970s.

The photo RadarBox brings up appears to be taken at Hong Hong in the late 1960s - this has to be a strong contender for the most out-of-date RadarBox aircraft details/photo, unless anyone knows differently :-)

AF1 stopped off at RAF Mildenhall for a fuel stop between 04:45 and 0600 BST today. However, I didn't get a hit either in nor out.  :(

Anyone know whats going on here? Tracked a BA A320 heading north then it turned 180 and headed back. Listed as a flight from Gatwick to Heathrow. Seems a long way of doing this. Unless it's some kind of charter for those who want a flight familiarisation/eclipse viewing etc

I think I'm right in saying that BA flight numbers starting with a 9 are normally charters or one offs.

If you look at the particular flight routing against the c/s it's showing gatwick to Heathrow.  On that premis, it's way off beam!

Yes, BAW9xxx flight numbers are invariably non-revenue e.g. positioning or engineering flights, and don't correspond to a specific route. 

As such, it's a waste of time having them in a routes database at all, as today's example shows.

Thanks for that Southwest and Dave, another followed suit just after. BA probably have plenty of time to do these kinds of flights at the mo with the strike!

The other thing that BA do with 9000 series flight codes is fear of flying courses for panicky flyers.  These ofthen go out over the south coast and back again for around 50 mins flying time.  My wife did one, out of Gatwick on a BA A319.

If you look closely at the picture, you will notice two female Database compilers, checking the details to the database recods!
