Everyone, please check Airframes if you see a strange tie-up.  Anything with a numeric registration like this is probably NOT what you think it is.

Hi,

Just picked up this mode s "4CA334". It's classed as "EIDW Ground", and appears to be a Radar Test at Dublin Airport. "Remarks from airframe.org" are: -800ft sq 7777, radar test

Dub33

Just picked up at 11.59 hrs "43C2F8" - reg "XS737", a Hawker Siddeley HS-125-2 Dominie T1 operated by 55(R) Sqn at RAF Cranwell for rear crew training.

jgrloit

The Dominies regularly fly up through the Shap Gap, on into Scotland Low Fly Zone and eventually return via Otterburn.
Various Callsigns used - They can also use the Spadadam Electronic Range, Just East of Carlisle.
I Also seen the UK and Luxembough E3C's and at times the Sentinels (ASTOR), possibly working in mixed Pairs.
(NATO??) aand (ASTOR??).
Based in Hexham - Tyne Valley
Best view for RB is North of a line between EGNT and EGNC  - includes OTA and Spade, to EGPH above 7500ft.   Can be TRUE mobile with Mobile Broadband feed to Network.

Hi on my box now 43C09F Astor 5 ZJ694 RAF Sentinel.

I wonder if ASTOR5 is working with the SRS in N.Ireland as he has been showing at 43000 ft on my box since 11:25 hrs today.
I had an E3C (NATO17) up before that but he seemed to transit Very Low, possibly into a local field - EGNT or EGNV with the Sentinel possibly a replacement.

I've been wondering about that also as the E3 and sentinels have been pinging on my box regularly now for the last couple of weeks. However i have good coverage over into towards Scotlland, where a lot of Military action seems to occur,  and as they don't show position it's pure speculation.

John

Edit  Interestingly he is still there now at 15.14 at 43000ft.

I tend to expect the E3C's to be North Sea, as they frequently replace, or are replaced by Luxembough registered E3's either C's or F's .
All of those use NATO signs so I thought that they were watching for Bears etc.
as they are usually at 38000 approx.
