Hi Nick,

Just save your My log file from the data folder and replace if the existing if you re-install.  You shouldnt have to delete but if you do, remember and delete all instances of Radarbox.

Also you might want to check your virtual store as the correct navdata and mylog will be here since you installed into the default program files location.

Many thanks for all your help
I searched for all files Navdata.db3 and it came up with a few
as you said Andrew something about virtual files I found a couple that were showing located
in a virtual file (Idont know why)  but I deleted all of those and when I reran the program
I now have  157283 aircraft is this correct only I noticed in one of the comments on here someone mentioned 257283 I am guessing the 2 at the beginning is wrong or I am still missing loads
Any way many thanks to you both for all your assistance

Hi all, thought I'd share my experience with you. Back in March I posted saying I had troubles with installation, and after much debate resigned myself to not being able to update.
I reinstalled ANRB into it's own file, not in Program Files.
Seeing the latest database, I tried installing it in C:\AirNavSystems\Radarbox and left off the Data at the end. It has now, miracle of miracles, updated my database.
For those experiencing problems with updating, try these tips, you never know it might work.

Got one here that I can't Find in the DB, actually there are many, but this one stands out, again with USA flag:

A07070  decodes in two lines as:

N12728  Cessna 206H C206  Weaver Aero Int. Mountridge KS

ZS-SED Cessna 206H C206  (wrong ICA024)

What does that mean?

A07070 is an American hex which decodes to N12726 which was its previous identity.  This aircraft is now ZS-SED and is Cessna T206H Turbo Stationair c/n 20608303.

It is an unfortunate fact of life that in your part of the world, miscodes like this are prevelant and as they are using the American hex code, this will give an American flag.

I have added it to the database under the miscoded hex.

Please forward any other unidentified hex codes and I will try and add them as well.

A quick question - does this update incorporate all the previous updates?

I am still having trouble getting the number of aircraft to go above 80166 - have followed all the tips given in the thread and still no joy - any suggestions much appreciated.

This installation was a new one (from an original 2007 cd) on a windows 7 laptop - so managed to do a system upgrade from version 2 to 3.13 with no problem. Everything else is working correctly - it is only the latest database update that is proving a problem.

Is the 157000 for the total aircraft number confirmation that the update has worked ok?

Having done an upgrade from the original CD, to 3.13 you will have more than one instance of Radarbox on your computer.

First of all I presume you ran the Navdata and didnt just save it from the website. Use Windows search to look for the NavData.db3 from April.  Copy this to the data folder of the 3.13 installation, replacing the one that is there.  It will probably be in the original installation data folder and will be around 27Mb and dated whenever you installed it.  Be aware there is more than one file with Navdaat.db3 as part of the name.

It replaces trhe original and will have over 157,000 codes

Hi Alan, this may appear to be a stupidly basic question, but just how do you find out how may codes are in the file?

Choose the menu item "File" then "Database Explorer"

On the Database Explorer window select the "aircraft" table from the drop down list.

At the bottom of the Database Explorer window is the number of rows (MS codes).

I was with Lionel whilst the reinstall was being done and we did find and delete any previous versions of the Navdata3 file. Airnav had not been installed on that laptop before so there was only the original CD installation to remove. The file is in the correct place as far as I can tell so am at a loss as to why it is not showing the correct total. The system does work ok and if there is a planned upgrade that does away with the Navdata file then that cannot come soon enough
