Started up a couple of time today. The software is sitting saying hardware checking. USB drive in device manager says all is okay with driver. Disabled and enable driver. no change. If i unplug the usb then it I get a brief blue flash of the led.
System working ok yesterday.

Try on another machine if possible and another USB port. If no such luck either contact support and we will give details on a return.

Got the pwd logged in on my laptop (win XP). Working fine. So fortunately not my RDB hardware.
Running on Windows 7 64 bit. Do suggest reinstall of sw or just 64 bit drivers?

Do a reinstall of your software, something may have got corupted, backup your data folder though first.
Sometimes if something has got corrupted the checking.. sign remains and doesn't disspear, this has been seen on rare occasions.

Yesterday my RB just stopped working, was picking up nothing at all even though system showed everything OK. This is on my Win7 Laptop. Tried restarting RB to no avail, then noticed that my virus checker had scanned the PC, so did a restart of my computer then connected RB and everything started with no probs. This is the first time that my virus scan has interrupted RB. For info using Mcafee via BT.

Hi Graham, another possible cause is Windows updates, I found great difficulties with Win 7 64-bit Ultimate, every time an update occurred, RB would cease to function. Come the finish, I re-formatted HDDs re-loaded Win 7, disabled Updates, installed ANRB, had the normal problem of having to point RB to the 64-bit Drivers, then everything ran tickety-boo (OK!). I've since found out that my Win 7 is a counterfeit copy, which I notified to Microsoft - giving them my registration code - but the Update problem was there before they knew that! Try disabling Updates and see if that solves your problem.
Thanks all for replies and help. Back up running on my Win 7 64bit box with a reinstall of 4.03. Although my flight history for the last 18months has gone. myflights db file got overwritten/corruptted along the way.
Two things spring to mind that may have been potential causes for the RDB corruption.
Still Radarbox SW causes my machine to crash (BSoD) after approx 36 hours of contiuous operation.
Also Windows Update. Normally set to manual mode, somehow it got reverted back to automode and after a crash did an update on reboot. Have the same problem with power save mode on my USB. Occasionally reverts back to the ON state. Most frustrating...

Regarding the USB problem;
Most PCs have an entry in the BIOS setup to permanently switch off the USB power saving facility.

Hi Graham, I'm still convinced the Updates is the cause of these problems. Mine has been fine since disabling Updates - and no other problems, so I'm haooy. Can you try this, it may prove the point. Disable Updates, then when convenient shut RB down completely, and then let Updates do its thing. When completed, Shut Down and then cold re-start, if any updates have completed installing, start RB and see if it can live with the updates - if RB runs OK, then we'll have a better idea, whether or not it is the auto update process that causes the corruption. I can't try it myself, because as stated above, I notified Microsoft that I thought I may have been sold a pirated copy of Win 7, and gave them the supplied registration code - each time I log on since reporting it, I get all sorts of messages telling me that I've got a counterfeit copy of Win 7, and can't get any updates downloaded, and it only runs with basic functions. I thoiught I'd be doing them a favour by reporting this, but instead I get screwed! I paid £100 for it, seller promptly disappeared and I'm left up the swanny! I wouldn't bother reporting any suspicions to them again - once bitten...............
Graham, a PS to Tonka's comment above, I don't know about the USB power settings being in the BIOS, but I believe they are availabe from Device Manager - USB - Properties.

They are available in Device Manager but the settings do not survive a reboot of the PC - thus the need to set them in the BIOS.

Thanks for clarifying that Tonka Tom or Tonka Alex (I'm totally confused now!) - I hadn't realised that USB settings were accessible in the BIOS - will have to have a play to see if I can find them.

I have regularly used manual updates rather than automatic updates.
If was after an unscheduled automatic update that this problem occurred.
I have a spare HD and was going to put a base Win 7 64bit with no updates on and test with RDB sw. Hoping this would stop my BSoD after running RDB sw for 36 hours.
However with 7 month old twins have never had the time to it. :-)

Hi Graham, with 7 month old twins I'm surprised you've got time to do anything, let alone play with RB and computers - Respect! I've had 2 kiddies with 2 different wives and 5 years in between, one was more than enough to keep me occupied. By the time my second daughter could toddle (about 18m - 2yrs), she could connect my CB radios and comms. receiver, when I got them out and put them on the coffee table!

With the reinstall something positive has happened for me. My machine has been running for much longer than 36 hours without a BSoD (5 days non stop so far) due to no memory resources available. Attached is a screen shoot of my resource monitor. It shows the commit charge at 90-95% but has not got any higher. Before this would reach 100% and soon my system would crash. Note that AirNav takes up by far the most memory resources.
