Yes, it's not uncommon.

You're talking about groundspeed (i.e. true airspeed plus the effect of any tailwind).

Not half as goos as seeing it in the air!!!   At an air display in my childhood doing aerobatics.

Fastest today in MyLog is D-ABTD, a Boeing 747-430M,ground speed was 587kts.

Ah yeh of course, I forgot about the effects of a tail wind!

Would of loved to of seen concord on RB!

Only seen one once in my lifetime, walking round the parimeter fence at Heathrow, and all of a sudden a roar x10 louder than anything else we'd previously heard, looked beyond the control tower and up she went!
