What was happening in Lincolnshire last week?

I was away with work last week staying in a pub near Scunthorpe and around 10 o'clock almost every night there was the sound of several helicopters flying over but it was too dark to see anything. Some of the locals were suggesting it might have been anti-terrorist exercises on the oil rigs? Unfortunately I didnt have my Radarbox but wonder if anyone picked anything up?
