User-generated RadarBox Location Map

I wonder if it would be a good idea to have a thread devoted to reporting new locations of network RadarBoxes. Looking at the Network Locations map just doesn't do it. Perhaps people planning trips to new locations could post here too, to alert us.

Jakarta, Indonesia, is live as I type this. The network grows....

It would make a lot of sense, but there are some here who are particularly secretive of their location, even as far as not wanting to give away which town they are in.  I suppose they have their reasons.

How many are boxes are networked, i think i read that 5500 boxes have been sold, how many of these are being networked, i would like to get some idea before i take out my network subscription, i appreciate that people do not want their locations known, but surely AirNav can see how many boxes are being networked??

What we need is something like we've got for the Planeplotter community - see http://scooterhound.com/WWWR/ships/sharelist.html?dir=PP&typ=hyb.  Then those of us that don't mind disclosing our location could put a pin on a map.

Anyone have any idea how to set something like that up?

Prehaps we should do a bit of a poll, to see who would be interested in showing where there rough location is. I for one would not mind showing my location.

I know there is some people in senitive locations, but I think that most people would not object to a rough location being shown - lets find out

I would willingly create a map of locations if anyone cares to let me know where they are....even just to how many in each country

The number of boxes on the network is plotted in the chart on the Network Locations Map - just scroll down - it also logs the count of network flights.

My idea for this thread was that we just reported new areas that network flights are coming from - we've had endless discussion about the accuracy of the Network Location Map, and possible improvements, in other threads. Perhaps AirNav have a plan...

As I say, just an experiment to see if this works and is useful.  Just click on the EDIT button next to "Collaborate", and add a new pin.

Sorry Rod, I know it's not what you had in mind!  Although, it appears to be a fairly popular idea, so if people want to add their locations (10 locations so far), maybe this can become the way of us knowing where other Radarbox locations are.

I'll see how it goes, and if enough people use the map, then it should prove useful.
