It all looks very scary to me - how far is the nearest fire to you?

We don't tend to get problems like that in Lancashire!

We got 'lucky' again - woke up at 2:30 AM last Friday night and closest fire was about 3 miles away coming down a canyon and it was putting flames fifty feet high. We were sure to get evacuated but it went away from us. Wiped out hundreds of homes though, and was 4 different large fires before they got a handle on it.

I saw an Ericsson Air Crane fly over just a few hundred feet above our roof, going 'forward' almost sideways in the heavy winds trying to drop on the fire. Amazing.
