changeover to radarbox

hi everyone, as a user of the sbs-1, Iwish to change over to the radarbox due mainly to the opportunity to be able to see aircraft tracked worldwide My Question is, as i am operating a laptop with mobile broadband ,wil that enable me to see flights over other countries or do i have to have home broadband? any advice or help would be great. I am reasonally happy with my sbs but have found it akward to get addons to it. thanks liam

Hi Liam,

Welcome to the group. I frequently use RB with my laptop and Vodaphone mobile broadband dongle. Like a mobile phone, results depend on location.

Laptop and mobile broadband work fine with the network for me with the radarbox.

If you already have an sbs-1 you might want to look at adding Planeplotter for network traffic, certainly within the UK that gives me more traffic than the radarbox network (and in real time).

RadarBox Network has now usually 200 permanent sharing stations.

thanks it looks like that is what i want to see with the radarbox. wil it work with my existing external antenna?

If you have a bnc connector you'd need an adapter to sma but you can get them quite easily.

Yes is the answer,as Stuart rightly says you will need an SMA to BNC connector which are available from Maplins for around £2-50.

No problem,this is what the hobby is all about,and the forums of course.I`m using the BS1100 with the RB,I have an SBS1 but don`t use it any more but still use the antenna with the RB,and it woks very well indeed.
