Snow Holding

Ahoy guys! I've watched with interest the patterns & diversions of aircraft this morning. Enclosed is a screenshot of a Ryanair and an Emirates flight which have been circling for nearly 45 minutes so far over Birmingham (EGBB) while the crews try to clear the runway. Listening in was fascinating stuff!

I have been watching the same thing :), unfortunately I'm only hearing the aircraft side of things and not ATC. Nice to know what is happening, thank you :) Also heard a few being diverted to East Mids, interesting stuff.

They've just re-opened. Have a look at this screenshot during the hold I'm stunned @ how close these guys came within the pattern!!!!!

Thats perfectly normal, 1000ft vertical separation is fine.

In fact this morning I saw 6 aircraft at Ockham all within 8000ft vertically.

Currently watching TUA411 circling in the stack to the West of Birmingham, has been for about 40 mins now. Just heard on Midlands Today that the runway at EGBB is currently closed to clear snow off the runway

I'm also watching TUA411, I've been watching for about an hour now, will he land or divert... he must be getting through some fuel up there.

It's going to get very interesting when they do clear it, loads of stuff on the departures board showing final call, not unless they just cancel them!

TUA411 has just descended by 1000 to FL140, looks like another (UEA37) is joining the stack now.

Hey guys have been listening to TUA411 and it was on hold for 2hrs 15mins. I heard an option for EGNX East Midlands at one stage but there apparently fueled for a straight return trip so decided to hold!
