My Log and Planeplotter questions.

A few questions ---

Where is the log  stored ?

In what format?(could it  for instance, be opened by something such as Excel independently of ANRB?).

Is there any way to edit the  saved log  - or to access  complete single days any further back than "yesterday"?


Does the Planeplotter multilateration feature work OK with ANRB?

....I'm running (after some difficulties) a  trial version of PP so can't  use the MLAT  feature - which, if it works well, would be the  reason for purchasing a full version of PP.

The logs are stored in the data folder under the Airnav2009 folder.

There should be two files mylog.db3 and Navdata.db3

I think if I remember right that http://www.sqlite.org/ has a freebie database tool that will let you play with the databases. Much better that the in built tool.

Thanks- Open Office seems to open the files after a fashion - but not really useable...will look at your suggestions.

Hi Dave

I've used SQLite Browser to edit my NavData file and it worked a treat. I haven't tried it on MyLog but can't see why it shouldn't work. Try it on a copy of MyLog first the you won't ruin your main MyLog Data

If you only have the trial version of PP you can only see your own local aircraft. Only when you register PP can you see shared aircraft on the network.

You must have an SBS box to be a Ground Station i.e. to send RAW data for the multilateration feature to use. RB does not provide the required data. If you have an SBS box you can have free Mlat as long as you share RAW data.

You can be a Master User and track non-positional aircraft even if you have no ADS-B box at all you just pay the €12 a year fee. As I have an RB I have paid the fee for Mlat and use it every day with great success. I have confirmed its accuracy from eyeball observations.

Once you pay for PP you can ask for the 21 day trial of Mlat.
