Fenris, Thanks for your help. I have done as you have said and downloaded the program, rebooted and selected the disable Vista 64 button. This did not work immediately so I have again tried to reload the drivers, but to no avail !
Do you have any other thoughts?
Thank you

I don't have EasyBCD in front of me to look at just now, it's only on my laptop. I believe that this has to be set and the boot manager setup saved and it should be active on a reboot. I would suggest looking at the NeoSmart forum for advice.

Advanced Options - Allow Unsigned Driver Installation.  Then re-boot, and install the drivers again.

Thanks dudbaker, I still have v2 installed so I am able to continue using RB. Disappointed that v3 has not been tested on SP3 though, never mind it will be sorted eventually

Seeing as we've had access to it for less than 24 hours, don't you think it's too soon to expect it to be perfect? You can continue to use 2.01 as well, the beta tag should tell you that it's still in development.

It was beta tested on XP SP3 - I ran many versions of the closed beta on my NC10 laptop, running XP SP3.  Worked fine.  I always took the time/effort to install each beta on both my desktop and laptop.

This must be something about specific XP SP3 setups on individual PCs.

Installed the full version of V3 beta, however when I try to launch the program a message box appears ¨ARNB.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close¨  I am running XP pro SP3.  I notice others are experianceing the same problem, but is there a fix?

Have you tried to run the app in compatibility mode. I had this problem and to get around it I right clicked onto the ARNB short cut on the desktop, clicked onto properties and then clicked onto the compatibility tab and ran it in windows 98/windows me mode . Not ideal but it worked for me.

Of course it's to soon to expect it to work perfectly so soon after being released as beta version, and I am happy to be using version 2, and that's exactly what I am doing now, I only mention that I am disappointed that it was not checked on the latest version of windows XP. I shall be waiting patiently for the inevitable fix.

It was tested on XP SP3 - see my previous post ;(

And I didn't need to use compatibility mode.

Spaice

Sorry tarbat I did not see your post until after I responded with mine, I have noted that it has been tested on SP3. No offence intended, as previously mentioned I am happy to continue using V2 until a fix is available.  I'm only jealous you know :)

You explained on page 9 why you thought 2.01 was broken as well as as 3.0.  You suggested a reload of 2.01.  I asked where I could find a copy but did not get result.

It took me 12 hours to find.  http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/ANRB15Setup.exe
but not sure which version that is.

I do not expect perfection but it is nice to have something running at last.

Hi Airnav,

When going from full screen and pressing esc to go back, the map disapears. (screenshot 2)

Cheers John

Edit - Had to reboot RB to get the map back if this helps

Like EGNXR I'm also having the problem of going from full screen map to the map disappearing when 'esc' is clicked, and then having to reboot RB.

I'm starting to wonder whether it is Sp3 itself that is causing the problem. I too was closed-beta-testing it and it ran (and the current V3 beta continues to run) perfectly well on my XP Sp3 machine (with all MS updates installed).

All,

We have been a bit quiet but its not because we are not doing anything :) Its because we are passing the reports through.

Important notes:

1.) The issue of it not loading in certain installations is being looked act. It is NOT a XP SP3 issue.

2.) Keep giving us more reports. Please post in this thread and do not create others
