Thunder storm

Went to\ work AM sunny.  Came home 1730.  There had been a local thunder storm for about 1 1/2 hours.
Expecting the worse BUT no box still working fine.

A couple of rumbles still going on.
My antenna is in the roof and it's the Watson linear.

I was more worried about my HF vertical and delta loop I have for ham radio.

Still very hot and a thunder storm is expected later.

Also no extra static precautions.

and the RB is only 4 months old

What a friend of mine has done to prevent lightning strikes on his various roof antennas is to put up a homemade lightning conductor on the other side of the roof from the antennas.  It's also a good 4ft higher than the highest antenna.

Hi, another great one if you like Yahoo Widgets is the Euro Lightning Map. When downloaded put your co-ordinates in longitude & latitude and you'll get get a storm warning message which states how far the strike is away from you. For example..." Storm warning, 2 strikes detected, 17 miles to your north-west"!! Great fun and it works too!!!

We in the UK suffer more tornados caused by lightning per square mile than anywhere else in the world!!!! Just a trivia fact.
