Dist 4170 NM?

Occationally I see this kind of strange targets... The flight I was tracking was 4170 NM from me and the software plotted horizontal lines as shown in the attached image. What is causing this? Has anybody seen this before?

The ADS-B in that aircraft is faulty and is giving information which is false.

Sometimes it may be using two gps systems which one may be faulty and hence the positions it plots could be far apart causing these lines.
