new aircraft with old reg's

Saw this QANTAS flight over NSW, Australia. It should be a A332, not a 742.
How is it registering as an old a/c?
Was 32 NM SSW of YPPH.......where the sun shines.
Previously 31NM NNW of EGCC....where it didn't shine!
Now back near EGCC, Oh, how I miss the sun!!!
