I have D-CALM d0228 of the German Environmental Research Council somewhere near me over Scotland at FL200, no positional data.

D-CALM now showing in Myflights(east Mids) presumably on his way home after the plume inspection.

Here's a screenshot of G-FBFI as it was crosing Biggin Hill at 19.52 BST heading towards the Dover Vor. I noticed too that he had come back soon afterwards.

Notice how ghostly quiet the Radar looks.

I notice he's only at 2430 feet high.

What's it like in the UK?, the reports I've seen here say the dust is 8-10 miles in height.

Well from where I live on the coast in Southern England, it's nice clear skies, I can see the stars. I read the BBC news online that volcanic ash will reach ground level in Scotland this evening spreading South of the UK overnight.

Hope you don't mind me posting this light hearted article here ....... but it seems the reason for the current problems may be due to my beloved football club "Newcastle United"

An NUFC club spokesman has refused to comment on claims that the source of the dust cloud covering parts of Europe was in fact St.James' Park and not Iceland as previously thought.

Cleaners preparing the trophy cabinet for the expected arrival of the Championship trophy on Tyneside next week have been blamed for the release of ancient material.

A small amount of the ash has been coming to the ground here (orkney).  I have harvested about a teaspoon of it from the bonnet of the car as a souvenir of why there is a gap in our log!!

Something to look at ;-). TOM025 (Orlando) just landed at Glasgow - missed it. However, their arrivals board shows TOM093 (Cancun) at 12:30. Think I'll do some work on my KML file of UK navaids for 3D 'til then - or maybe do some gardening!
