Screen Shots / Videos for TV Stations
« on: April 21, 2010, 12:28:53 AM »
We've been contacted during the last few days by several TV stations to have AirNav RadarBox screen shots showing the effect of the Iceland Vulcano on European Airspace.

We have sent some but we had the idea of asking all of you if your could post on this topic some interesting screen shots (both 2D and 3D) that would illustrate the complete chaos on european skies and, now, everything returning to normal.

So our request is: post your screen shots here and we will do our best for them to be shown on several TV stations (some of them very important: CBS, NBS, CNN, BBC).

Here's my contribution. It shows several BA flights in holding over several locations - they were obviously anticipating landing shortly. Then a 3d one of them approaching EGLL.

This one is not very clear but it shows a convoy of at least 8 aircraft all heading south to the Spanish resorts on Wednesday morning.

Here's my examples with the British Airways aircraft heading for Shannon in Ireland and also holding off the SouthWest prior to landing permission.

Plus the first aircraft landing back at London Gatwick at 2200 hrs local.

Best regards Dave.

Hi Airnav Sky News are showing updates of the current airtraffic picture from the Radarvirtuel site. You should be giving Sky a call about this system. I have to say last nights BA situation was facinating and every penny I paid for this device was well worth it.

This screen dump shows the situation over UK Thursday 15th at 12:45. Airnav box came in useful to watch the situation change on an hourly basis over Europe. Kept me amused in the office anyway!
