For some reason, possibly runway maintenance or an incident on 23R, flights are currently landing on 23L, leading to this situation: OJ rolled long and waited in the loop for JH, which used the turning circle after landing, and they then backtracked  to the terminals.

I guess this had been going on for a time, as I had noticed various aircraft holding a bit earlier, quite unusual for Manchester at this time of night.

In order to carry out maintenance and improvement works, rwy 05L/23R will be closed Sunday to Thursday nights 2230-0600 hrs local time from the 11th of April till the morning of the 20th August 2010.
