I hear that two B-2's will be stationed at Fairford this week. It will be interesting to see if anyone spots them.

It is very unlikely that they will be seen even in the list on RB. None of the B52,s are fitted and there is a B1 at Mildenhall at present that also did not show up when it arrived.

The IACO code for this aircraft should be DC93 and it was probably Mildenhall or Northolt although they also overfly quite a lot.

I picked up ASTOR4 again today. There seems to have been quite a lot of RAF activity in the Midlands over the last few days. Mainly C130's and VC10's but the HS125's and a BAe146 of theirs have been around a lot as well. Is there an exercise going on at the moment?

I see the Vulcan was up again this afternoon...

Pity he doesn't transmit his speed, height & position etc...I could understand it if it was still a military aircraft carrying his 'cargo' of Blue Danube, Yellow Sun, Blue Steel, WE177B etc. but it would be great to see him on his way to a rather more mundane (but just as exciting:-) role at a local air display.

Actually I have just checked and his altitude is picked up in the Alert notification boxes that pops (3980) up but not in MyLog.

Is this normal or have I missed something?

Glyn,

You only get the height stored in MyLog if the aircraft has a callsign.  Look at all the other aircraft you have in MyLog, some will have height and time information - and a Flight ID or callsign - and some won't, those that weren't transmitting a callsign.

FlyBe are a case in point, they never have the callsign set.  Same for Aer Arann, but Ryanair and British Airways always do.

As far as the Vulcan transmitting full ADS-B position information, it doesn't have to and it would probably cost more to fit the kit to do so.  Maybe if you made a donation of the required Nav kit, then we would all be happy :-)
