I have always had a soft spot for the Vulcan - I remember my Dad taking me to Gaydon Air Show which was where as a young boy it frightened me to death...

The Lightning also sticks in my mind - thundering down the runway before standing on its tail and going vertical like a rocket - a rate of climb only just matched by the F-15 apparently...

I believe there are a couple or three Lightnings flying in South Africa and a project underway in the US to restore XS422 to flight. A kid I grew up with is the UK Project Manager but there has been no news now for a few years...:-(

Anyway to keep this on topic has anyone had any other contacts with the Vulcan?

I am guessing he was travelling to an air display somewhere as it was close to the weekend.

Next time I am at Brunty I'm gonna ask about ADS-B...

Nope. Logged it first time yesterday and will be keeping a close eye out for it in the future.

Just witnessed a race between 2 Thomsonfly aircraft going into EGBB. Heard the first one (767) coming in low and fast over my house and watched my screen as he threw the anchors out big style late on to drag the speed off. Checked the screen again just as I heard the second one (757) overhead coming in higher and slower to drop in behind and then descend more rapidly to get back on the glide slope. I can just imagine the company freq now - 'After you', 'No after you', 'No it's okay after you', 'No please I insist, after you' :)))))))))

Yes I believe so. That's the Stennis, Mississippi one right?

It's just that their website hasn't been updated for between 3-5 years...:-(

Anyway I'm getting a little paranoid about keeping this on topic and although it comes under the category "Interesting Aircraft" it has little to do with RadarBox and I seem to have rattled too many cages as it is...
