Hi Alan, if it would have read that way in the first place, it would not have been necessary to ask. ;-)

Offtopic: To Busy with the job, so I'm not able to investigate my unknowns at the time. But if you are interested I may be able to post my uninvestigated unknowns every second or third day.

Have a nice evening!

I tried the update from 4.03 to new version and had same problem as earlier post with file not found.
I gave up and downloaded whole file and had no problems (except it thought i was 3d and had to change map).

Hi Ingo,

Nice to hear from you, hope all is well with you.  I understand the pressures and time constraints impossed by having to work for a living and am glad that those days are past for me.  I will gladly take your reports whenever you can manage

One of the problems I would imagine with the writer having English as a second language

Support would be the best place I would think to send a crash report.

Please can someone clarify the actions to take for upgrading from Version 3.13.  Am I right in saying that I should use the full installation,  Also, do I need to uninstall V3.13 first or will the full installation over-write it keeping the mylog files etc. intact.

Regards

Keith,

From Airnav, although the difference between 3.13 and 4.03 is basically the addition of 3D, they suggest saving the files like mylog and doing a full install of V5 then adding back in your saved files.

Good morning Alan

Thank you for the quick reply.  Will I have to uninstall Version 3.13 first or will it automatically over-write without the obvious saved files.

Regards

Keith

When I last installed 3.13, I had to do something to get the program to open (having double clikced the desktop icon) automatically bypassing the logon prompt. Is this still required and if so how do I do it?

Hi Keith,

Apologies missed the important bit from my last reply.

Save your mylog to a known location, its the only one that you should need to save although you maybe feel you want to also save your photo folder.  Completely unistall the previous version.  Download and install V5.  Its big so will take some time to download.  Once installed replace the mylog in the programme with your saved mylog and then start up.

You may or may not require to enster your username and password but these should be in the registry and the program may or may not find them.

hungryasthesea,

You shouldnt have to do anything to get the program to open other than press the icon.

See my messages to Northern Watch regarding v3.13

Thanks Alan

I will give it a go when I get some time and see what happens.  Not that computer literate and still without my box now for 3 weeks and still no sign of it being repaired.

Alan,

Thanks for the reply. Did a brand new instal to a totally new location and everything has loaded just fine.

It seems so far to be a good release with not that many errors, well done to those who have spent time testing etc.

"Just an observation - now that the Navdata database in encrypted, the NavData Editing Tool is now unusable, which is a shame."

Ahh this is a show stopper for me.  I use the NavData Editing Tool each time there is a db update to transfer mil hexcodes into JSTARS.   Is there any plans to overcome this, eg giving option of disabling the encryption or NavData Editing Tool being able to decrypt?

So  WILL NOT be upgrading anytime soon as I suspect that this will take some time, if at all!!!!!
