The conflicts are usually with the call signs of other airlines which is heard during flight and which there is a possibility it could be misheard and acted upon by another aircraft anywhere along the route and may possibly not corrected by ATC .  In these circumstances the call sign will be changed. Its usually the last couple of figures in the ID which cause the conflicts

Group Air Med who have the elusive 34334A have a different machine in the air today using flight id GPM52A and mode s of 345258 !
