Hi Jason,

A7FE63 decodes to N614JA, there is nothing allocated by the FAA at this time and none of the previous users of the hex/registration hover.  However C-gBNG C172 of the Brampton Flying Club was N614JA previously so it may be it.

Identifying aircraft in South Africa has become a problem as the SACAA no longer supplies public information about the register.

This happened after the Vice President went overseas on an official visit in a privately owned aircraft. The ownership was identified via the website the CAA provided information too. The owners were the Gupta family. Lots of rumours that the Guptas have a privileged position in South Africa due to a close friendship with the President and the ANC via gratuitous financial support. The government was a bit embarrassed by the whole affair.

Wonder if this has anything to do with the embargo????

Many thanks for the info Chris, There is every chance that is the reason.  It doesn't help that ZT-*** registrations are now being issued, at least with the ZS-*** ones the sequence can be worked out .
