Interesting - where is "here", theoNeth? - I'm guessing Holland!

Oh sorry, you all seem to have all the codes in your heads.
KMCC is McClellan in California, US.

RodBearden

Oops - sorry missed the reference to KMCC - apart from knowing it's in the States, I would have had to look it up :-)

I did look up the aircraft, though, on Airframes.org, and it's unfortunately not the Iskra, but a USCG Hercules. AirNav are working on getting the database updated better in the future!

Sorry to disappoint you :-(

Well actually that makes a lot more sense. C-130s from the USCG (US Coast Guard) and the AF Material Command fly out of here. The USCG C-140 is 1715.

I have to go to that site and improve my learning.

[I didn't know if we were being invaded or if it was just a pre-invasion reconn flight... :-)]

Thanks for the quick ID.

Hi Malc41,

Only one I know of is 43C5C5 ZF511 Opt by QinetiQ / ETPS out of Boscombe Down they also have ZF510 but can't find a code for that. The Boscombe Fleet seem to fall in the range of 43C5BA to 43C5CD

Thanks John

We get quite a few flying up the river here, but just bobbing above/below the tree line. Thought that was maybe what was causing them to not appear, but obviously not.

Many thanks

It's been up most of the weekend, probably flying in a pair with one of the E3's for the Waddington Airshow

More of an interesting Flight ID really.

Guys, this thread has really taken off (pun intended) but it has truly changed my view, I have always been interested in civil aviation, but now military aircraft has caught my attention mostly because of your enthusiasm on this thread and of course this would not be possible without RB.  Keep it up.

sterigia

you are a lucky bunch, i have tens of mil flights mainly fighter-bombers streaking overhead all day and night  and all i get is an occasional german c160 or a nato tanker without height or position
