Either two different aircraft using the same Mode S Flight ID (unlikely, but possible), or an instance of the "hex code confusion" bug.

I would think" hex code confusion" would be unlikely since it normally only affects aircraft that have one or two bits different (these have 5).

Also I find a lot of military (and sometimes civilian) callsigns aren't   what they should be. Whether it is a typing mistake, a 0 instead of O (loganair are bad for this)or a pilot thinking he is being funny by using something vulgar etc. so I  suppose it would be far from impossible to get two blue42s at the same time

It was indeed a 2 ship, came in from the West, 2nd aircraft tucked in 500' below the other almost nose to tail. Second ship later changed to BLUE41 for landing at EGUN.

This ac has been airtesting for weeks now. MCE4 is a Marshalls of Cambridge c/s. Ac is there for upgrade, mainly avionics. It's the third one of the fleet in, six to go.

A quick question.

There was a VC-10 doing an hour's worth of circuits at Warton this morning. I was at work nearby and took some snaps with my compact camera. My computer wasn't on, so I have no RadarBox record.

Can anyone confirm that it was ZA149, which was around when turned my computer on this afternoon?
