I am currently sharing from Bali - close to Denpasar (WRRR). Not great reception but late approach and overflights.

Thanks Paul - getting good returns from Hong Kong now - the Asian Pacific Rim is getting pretty good now - Hanoi, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan all showing up at the moment!

We just need more from mainland China.

I'm in bangkok regularly, I have a condo there, I can place an antenna on the 35th (top) floor, terrain is flat, good reception in all directions...I would love to cover BKK, after all it's a major international hub, I only need an inexpensive radarbox...I'll keep looking on ebay :)

If you can afford a condo in Bangkok, you can afford a radarbox.

well I have one. just not in bangkok. spending a lot of money on further radarboxes is not my priority at the moment. after all a condo is probably a better financial investment than a radarbox...

I too have a Condo in Thailand, which I use when I get out to Thailand, my Condo is on the 5th floor of 18 and is 90km South of Suvarnabhumi Airport [BKK] but unfortunately has a big hill just to north of me so masking a lot of BKK area, also if I could put up a aerial on the roof, 50m of good coax would be expensive and lossy.

I have been thinking that a Ethernet version of the RadarBox could be very useful as it could be left unattended without needing a PC attached, also could be mounted in weather proof box on the aerial mast saving on the expense/loss of coax feeder and computer interference, one thing to bare in mind is that many tall buildings are used commercially as transmitter platforms and you could suffer from heavy interference, may need some big bandpass filtering.

yep. covering bangkok would be tempting, wouldnt it. as for ethernet vs coax - ethernet is cheaper and better, if you have radarbox in a weatherproof box. you can use something like this piece of hardware

works for me. 5v dc power needed though.
