Thank you, and so it is in the ANRB database as well with "..." as aircraftcode,

But the OK-TEC I see is flying with CSA flightid's all the time so that suggest it is a pax jet..........

Now I check my records I see that you are correct John!

http://www.airframes.org/ has 49D0A3 as a B737 reg OK-XGC and so does the GAS database at http://www.gatwickaviationsociety.org.uk/modeslookup.asp

I think that I'll do a manual update here :-)

No - it's C-130 Hercules A6-QFY.

I think you might be mistaken DaveReid. This DC-8 is usually based in the UAE, but visits ATC Lasham near Basingstoke for periodic maintenance.

C-130 A6-QFY landed at Dublin shortly after 1900 local this evening, departed again about an hour later.  Logged overflying the UK on both legs at FL180/300kt and FL190/350kt respectively.

If it was a DC-8 there must have been a helluva headwind up there ... :-)

I think your both right,
                               Go look on "Airframes.Org",put in Mod-S code and three a/c are using that code and are active?

                           A6-HLA     DC8
                           A6-MAH    Hawker 800XL
                           A6-QFY     C-130H
All use the Hex 8960BE.

I'm a comparative newbie, so be gentle with me if this is a stupid question.   Why aren't unique codes used - surely any duplication (triplication in this case) could give rise to confusion and potentially dangerous situations?

                       I was thinking exactly the same as you,but i thought with Bethsalem and DaveReid having different A/C for that code i`d take a look on "Airframes .Org",and thats what came back,but i`ve had 2 sensitive A/C(Military)both using the same code,strange but there you go,maybe there`s an RB user who can enlighten us both on this subject out there?

Yes it can and no it shouldn't happen.  National CAAs and military authorities are supposed to ensure that, at a given point in time, a specific code is only used by/allocated to a single aircraft.

Sometimes the system breaks down.

After all KLM MD-11's fitted with ADS-B equipment now it looks the GEC (Lufthansa Cargo) MD-11's are coming up now.

My first GEC MD-11 tonight on the anrb-screen: D-ALCJ as GEC8211 KDFW-EDDF.
