Hi all,
Could someone tell me how i get the Embraer 550 Legacy 500 into my Database explorer. What is the offical ICAO aircraft code? How do i get a silhouette? How is it with the Embraer 450? How is the procedure anyway. Do the new aircraft types automatically appear in the database or is it a must to put it into the database? Sorry to ask, but is it also possible to see the ICAO type in the list if an aircraft is received when the type is not in the database?

Thank you for your help.

Rolf,

The is ICAO code for the Embraer 550 Legacy 500 is E550 and this is in the database and is included in the Navdata.
The Embraer EMB 545 Legacy 450 does not have an ICAO code allocated and it is therefore in the database using the ICAO ZZZZ identifier.

You will find the aircraft codes in the aircraft table in the database along with details of the types covered by the identifier.

The ICAO identifiers don't automatically load into the database, like everything else they require to be manually input onto the server.  The codes are produced in ICAO DOC8643 Aircraft Type Designators http://www.icao.int/publications/DOC8643/Pages/default.aspx which was last updated on 14th April 2015 and when it is published the database is updated to cover any additions/amendments or deletions.

I am not aware of a standard silhouette for the E550 but Rod has produced a photo type silhouette and it is available here on the forum http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=1290.msg108329#msg108329

Alan,
thank you very much for your help. You do a great job here in the forum. I did find the silhouette. In my database explorer is no E550 aircraft listed. How do i find the navdata. Can i add the E550 manually? Do i have to do a navdata update? Where do i find the navdata for an update? Sorry Alan for so many questions.

Thanks Rolf
