Hi Ian,

Nothing on either of those.  3C488B decodes to D-ABDK which is unallocated as far as I am aware.  There may however have been a transfer within the Air Berlin Group in the last few day as the last D-ABDK became HB-IOS.

I suppose it's possible that HB-IOS has reverted back to D-ABDK. Air Berlin do quite a bit of transferring between the subsidiaries. Libhomeradar have also given it as D-ABDK.

Hi Alan, regarding ABR (Air Contractors):

It was a first time reception with more than 600 messages received.  So, from my point of view not caused by bad packets received.

In November I got two other airframes operated by ASL Airlines Ireland/FedEx Feeder with the flight id of todays unknown. Maybe a new airframe of the operator.

I presume that it may have been an earlier name or it is one of the division of the European Group.  Google European Skybus and you will get plenty of hits such as https://www.planespotters.net/airline/European-Skybus
and http://www.euroav.com/contact.php

However the Manx register has it as European Aviation I will go with that.

A large number of the entries to the database are made before the aircraft appears on any database or even the national registers and I usually go with the information provided by my information source at the time.

Searching the internet leads me to believe it is EI-SLT miscoding but I don't have any confirmation on that.  It should be using 4CA5D1 and is therefore showing plus one for the last three digits.
