b744,

Have a go at it, if it goes wrong we are here to help and it may help us in cracking DaveG issue because we can't replicate it yet.

For the rest who have got it working, can anyone confirm they are using it on Vista.

Will have a go this afternoon......do I have the RB connected via usb when I begin the whole process or if not, when do I connect it up ??
Thanks

AirNav Support

Keep it connected through the whole procedure. Otherwise it won't appear on your device manager page initially and you won't be able to update the firmware.

Once you have done the drivers update and firmware update. May be best to unplug and restart and then try RadarBox 2007.

Allocator

Installed the Beta12 patch on my XP laptop too.  No problems with installation and RB running well.

One thing I did notice this time, is that when doing the driver update, it is a 2 part process.

- First you need to tell the update where the FTDIBUS.inf file is.

- Then you have to tell it where the FTDIBUS.sys file is - and the default location suggested by the upgrade window was not AirNav RadarBox 2007\Drivers as far as I can remember.  It might have been \Windows\System32\drivers.  Would this cause the driver update to fail if this file was used?

Also, you need to acknowledge the "Driver not tested for Windows" message to comtinue with the install.

Allocator,

I tried to explain (badly) this 2 part process. With mine, when it got to the Have disc screen I could only see the .INF file but I clicked open and it took me back to the other screen - so rather than click have disc again i clicked on the line of entry available which was Airnav and low and behold it loaded.

Attempt 1.
Extracted files as explained by Allocator to the 2 files.Then tried the driver update via device manager etc and get;
windows encountered am problem
system cannot find file specified

using vista so slightly different prompts etc.  Ran the firmware upgrade hoping all wouls be fine but no luck
What do I need to do to update the drivers ??

AirNav Support

b744,

That might not have been a good move, to upgrade the firmware if it had not got past the earlier step.

What was the exact error when you pointed to the drivers?

Reduce your screen refresh settings to 3000. You won't notice much of an effect but it will help your situation.

Please dear AIRNAV Developers: You have to explain in your advertisement of this product, that every  interessent is adviced to  first read exactly the forum (especially the threads of the beta-testings), so that is his own decision to buy this product now or better lather in some months.

Thanks!

walfisch:

We have had over 200 customers purchase the product. Majority of the customers are very happy and are using Version 1 (infact out network stats show this) and they don't even know this forum exists or never had to use it. Hence this forum is not  a full customer opinion.

To those users to have had issues 1.2 rectifies the problem.

b744:

Can you confirm the files in that folder and the dates?
