Alan

Now we have a little bit more on AC130J "12-5753" with unknown hex

Quote "the datablock on the nose shows the aircraft type as a C-130J with serial as 11-5753 and the balance book in the entry displays it as AC-130J 12-5753"

Maybe look up 11-5753 in the various DB's or sources you may use

PS I looked up the DB this morning and could not find an obvious missing hex as they are all over the place these days and not in a fixed reg/hex sequence which would point to which hex it uses

Hi X

12-5753 is AC-130J c/n 5753 and is allocated to the 1SOG Det 2 out of Hurlburt Field AFB in Florida.

Joe Baughers excellent USAF serials http://joebaugher.com/usaf_serials/usafserials.html gives the following info

12-5753         Lockheed Martin MC-130J Hercules MSN 382-5753  To MC-130J Commando II.  Assigned to Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems, Marietta, Georgia, registered as N5104Q.  Conversion to AC-130J.  To 1st SOG Det 2 Jul 29, 2015.

I presume it will be in the sequence AE54C0 - AE54CF but 0-5 I don't have any details on

Can find nothing on 11-5753 and nothing on Joe Baughers site

I use Joe Baughers site regularly for US Mil and I agree he has it as 12-5753, but it has been seen with 11-5753 on the plate. However it is possibly not in the batch AE54C0-5 as they are reported as fiscal 14 Texans (AE54C4 stated as 14-0067 and AE54C5 noted as 14-0068?) and as you state all the others are taken up by the Hercs, however AE4E1E could be a slight possibility as I can find nothing on it and is at the end of a batch of new Hercs.
