Can you update any AIRPORTS in the database that have "(unassigned)" in the PS field.  There are about 300, and these cause the airport to display without any clue of the airports state or country.

By copying the PT field into the PS field for all airports with PS = "(unassigned)", these will then display correctly.

For example, Vagar airport on the Faroes displays like this:

Runway 31

Airports are in the database by City, State and Country.  The unassigned part regarding Vagar relates to the state in which it is situated.  As it isn't situated in a state due to the country size I have changed the unassigned to Faroe Islands and will be shown as such from tomorrows Navdata update.

The updater software only does aircraft and routes and therefore as I can only do these changes on an individual airport basis it may take some time.  I will need to look up unassigned in the Navdata and then make a PHP query direct to the server for each one and then make the change.

Hi Alan,

hi checked the entry of  3C4B48 in MyLog.db.

One reception, during a time frame of 45minutes 63 mode s messages received. Altitude between FL15 and FL13.

So, decoding errors and reception of broken/damaged data packets can't be excluded.

The rest has populated.

Northern Watch

Good afternoon Alan

I picked up this anomaly whilst at Edinburgh Airport this morning.  43C2CD which the db has as G-BFIB miscoding.  The c/s was XZ725 and then 2 Lynx helicopters flew over, one of which had 337 on the door which I see is RN Lynx HMA.8 c/n 190.  The other, but not coding was 307, XZ694. Looks as if the Lynx is using the correct code.

Regards

Keith

Hi Keith,

It was one of a number of miscodes being used by G-BFIB while it was on Police surveillance missions that they didn't want us to know about and tried to hide its identity from us.

The Lynx appears to have been allocated it around about May so now updated in the d/b

43C2CD,XZ725,190,Westland Lynx HMA8SRU,UK - Navy
